Northeast Ohio Packet Testing

Black River Radio Ops (NW8S) and OhioAPRS (K8UI) are experimenting with (re)building a VHF packet network in Northeast Ohio, including providing Winlink RMS gateways.

Current operations are on 145.01mhz, with the following stations participating so far:

KM8V AB8M KB8O N8OND KC8NZJ N8LXY W8IE W8DJG

All stations are welcome to test. Connect up to the BBSes (KM8V-1 / AB8M-1) and check the mail, send some traffic. Chat servers are -11, and nodes are generally -7. You can connect with a terminal or with something like Winlink Express.

Dig out that old KPC-3, or set up a soundcard modem and have some old-school fun.

Watch for beacons on the frequency to see what stations are on the air.
